![]() Derrida, as a postmodern thinker, has created a science of writing which he calls ‘grammatology’. His prose is largely concluded in linguistic structuralism and philosophy. It is difficult for students of sociology to have an adequate knowledge about his much talked of deconstruction theory. Derrida thus became a poststructuralist as well as a postmodernist. However, in 1966, as Charles Lamert informs us, Derrida talked about the dawn of poststructuralist age in a lecture. At best, Derrida is described as a linguistic philosopher. It also includes disciplines like philosophy, linguistics and humanities. ![]() ![]() It is interdisciplinary and its contributors include a variety of social scientists. And, at the same time, postmodernity is not a theme of traditional sociology.
